    @1catfish @MACK E-6

I saw a bunch of these when I was taking the I94 through Michigan this past week:

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the bridge law works for all the different combinations. I saw a few open deck trailer with 8 axles. All double tires. Up near Detroit on the I75. Hauling WAY too much steel. Lol.

I wouldn't want to be the one to pay for tires for those companies.

That must be a Canadian thing or something. Why does someone need 11 axles for a divisable load?

    Zeviander Thanks this.

Mi doesn't really care about the bridge law. The inner bridge on that trailer needs to be 9 feet. The front lift is worth 18000lbs because its 9' from another axle. All the rest are good for 13000 per axle. The tires last longer than you would think they're carrying a relatively light load per tire. It gets to be tricky when they go out of state though. Sometimes they'll have more lifts than they need for mi so they can lift tgem and get the inner bridge they need for another state

    Zeviander and Oxbow Thank this.

Those pgt trucks run out of the terminal in leipsic ohio. They haul nothing but coils or plate steel. Michigan they don't need permits, however they have blanket permits in Indiana and ohio. They primarily run ohio Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

    So...are they good for:
    155,000 gross, i.e. 12 steer, 34 drives, 18 front trailer, and 13 on remaining 7 axles?

    SAR and Zeviander Thank this.

I don't even think Ontario allows all those axles on the ground at one time. I think it's a Michigan thing.

I know Ontario does the quads with double front steers and rear drop steers. But not just straight 8's.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.

Close enough. They can go up to 20 on the steer axle if they can get it there. Only 32 on the drives pulling a multi axle in mi. And you nailed it on the trailer. If you look a lot of mi steel haulers run the 5th wheel as far ahead as possible without losing the inner bridge to load the front axle up.

    Zeviander and Oxbow Thank this.

Most of the loads I see going on those trailers ARE divisible. Usually the same stuff I load on my 5 axles just more of it.

    SAR and cke Thank this.

Like B-trains in Canada, two American (45,000 lbs) loads on one truck.

SAR, cke and Oxbow Thank this.

Nope Michigan, they haul everything up there like that. They run 12,000 gallon milk tankers, their feed trucks, flats just about everything. It’s not a divisible load if it’s legal.

SAR, MACK E-6, cke and 1 other person Thank this.
