No I don't, the end that hooks in is a chain strap, the other end is straight to the winch.

    cke Thanks this.

The winch end isn’t pulling over the rub rail?

    cke and SAR Thank this.

That strap is pulling over that rail and is no different than putting it over a piece of steel without a strap protector.

    cke and SAR Thank this.

I thought you was talking about the above pictures that I just posted. On that there is a small piece of carpet between the strap and the rail.

    Oxbow and johndeere4020 Thank this.

It only takes a tiny radius on the rub rail to protect the strap. Thats why rub rails generally aren't a sharp edge and a lot of modern trailer have a slight radius on the edge of the deck itself.

I'm not into ____ing matches on line but l owned s couple steel trailers over the years and have pulled a few dozen company trailers. We used to haul bar and load them 3 and 2 in the middle of the trailer. The straps would ride on the edge of the deck. On the steel trailers it would cause strap wear. Lo and behold when they ordered some new aluminum trailers for the open division they had a radiused edge there. They kept it a square edge for the trailers that were getting a side kit because the side kit needed that edge to sit on and seal nicer.
