    A 4x4 bulkhead probably would have worked, but I didn’t have any with me. And it was also bags of dirt.

    Maybe not, but you do have the engine and stator sitting above an empty fuel tank.

    @MACK E-6 I hauled a 36,000lbs one using 8 chains, never moved once. They ride really nice

    What makes you think that? Straps provide downward force, increasing friction. Friction stops load from moving. Just like with a lumber load. I've hauled loads like that, just like that. I don't see the problem.
