First time seeing a crane up close. Pretty cool. Was loaded and gone in an hour. This starts my 4th week of flatbedding. Doing this with a company that pays 85% versus my old dry van company paying $1.25 a mile is so much better. It's so good it feels illegal. Still have a hard time wrapping my head around it.
This load ended up being a pain in the butt. The first unit is tarped under the frame and it's held in place with Velcro. No d rings at all for me to bungie it down. Had to pull over twice and bungie the piss out of it and it still ballooned a foot wider than it should.

Picked up a load of galvanized support beams in Houston. My first big mistake was made today.
Cranking hard on the winch bar and its about at a 45 degree angle and it slips out. I had all my weight and strength on that thing. The momentum launches me forward and down in a summersalt (sp?) And my back cracks right into my steel lumber dunnage rack. Some scrapes and blood but my pride hurts more. -

Next up is train wheels. Loaded in 5 min and took me a lot longer than I want to admit chaining and strapping. 2 chains front, 2 chains rear, and the rest strapped with a large wood insert in every stack. There was an extreme heat advisory and the humidity made it miserable. Took a 5 min break and even with water felt I'll.
In second photo there's like a foot between the chains where they X. Picture looks like they touch but they dont.
