I thought that's what it looked like... All those pulleys would be a pain in the neck on an open deck without some sort of container... How long did it take you to chain them all down?
-
Not a fast load by no means, but not the slowest I've heard of either. I've done a little open deck in my day... Mostly hay and straw, a few pieces of equipment, and a lot of scrap... I hate trying to secure scrap!
I once scrapped an old bullrack pup trailer... I cut as much clean aluminum out of it as I could, then ripped the axles and steel subframe out from under it... Leaving a very stripped shell. This shell I then hauled about 6 miles to a junk yard and scraped it as dirty aluminum. It was too tall to stand up without hitting power lines, so I laid it on its side on a lowboy and strapped it down. That's as close as I've come to oversize... Think it ended up being like 12' 6" wide. I had about 1" of clearance on the right side when I pulled onto the junkyard scale... I had to GOAL about 4 times just to make sure I didn't wipe out the signal light pole for the scale.
I wish I still had those photos... But that phone ended up down a standpoint well shortly there after.Bud A., Oxbow, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
The boxes between the spread on my step have 10" of ground clearance. When I was mountin ghtem I had two people question me only to look puzzled when I pointed out there was a bracket on the axle that hung lower.

Current trailer I rent has a merrit box 1 inch lower than the winches and a foot or more from the ground. It's a royal pain dealing with the winches. Buying my first trailer new so want it exactly how I want it.
Northeast side and rent yard space in Converse.
Those are the boxes I'm thinking of. Are you happy with them overall or would you get something different next time?Oxbow Thanks this. -
We have a few bawer boxes on some of our trailers. They seem like really good quality. They are made in Joplin and 4 states carries them.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
