    Not the best pictures, sorry.

Was in Saginaw, Michigan, I seen 3 of these flatbeds today at a rest area, I thought they were pretty cool. They're hauling blades for those giant windmills that generate electricity. 20180809_123044.jpg

20180809_103000.jpg Whoops. This is what happens to softwood bevelled lumber. I was off for a week and the yard guys cleaned my trailer for me and gave me some new wood. Obviously all hardwood isn't created equal lol l thought the coil was going through the floor for second ;) crane guy was like "eye roll" lol

    Ruthless and stwik Thank this.

Just a HD load. Didn’t have a curtain around so I had to grab it.

I've never done coils. But I'm curious. Isn't the rack supposed to be inside the edge of the coil? Or did it move out?

kylefitzy, cke and SAR Thank this.

No you're exactly right. Since l do so many coil loads l have 4 coil racks fastened together with 2 4' pieces of 1x1 angle. It makes it faster to turn the racks to load shotgun or suicide. They also stay put better if the crane operator is rough or just blind ;). You can't see the two inner racks in the picture. They're spaced 2' apart. And the total width is 4' that coil was 38" wide. The crane op put the crane in the rack on an angle and between it being a little narrow and softwood it broke it. It would have been safe to run it but l had proper wood so he picked up the coil and l changed the wood for proper hardwood. 2 minutes of my life l won't get back. ;)
