You can easily get a twist in chains boys n girls. Just have a long run of chain and a ratchet binder that needs a spot of lubrication, then tighten it up without holding the long run of chain. Seen everyday by those that use ratchet binders....Chains twist so they loosen up going down the road.
Twist in chain = links not in line BTW

    Beautiful truck.

My carrier sent me to recover a 2011 Coronado Glider with the 12.7.

I own an older Columbia and man, the interior and gauges in the Coronado,.. I was in love. It was decked out with everything. Unmuffled jake,.. loved the pop pop.

How ever,.. I have a 435hp C15 in my truck and the 12.7 was supposed to be a 500hp motor. Maybe it was just the way I was driving it,.. but the 12.7 felt sluggish and lethargic from a standing stop compared to my CAT. Also it didnt climb the hills as well. I was pretty disappointed about that. But the truck itself,.. much nicer ride and surprisingly the turning radius wasnt much different than my Columbia.

If it was a Fitzgerald glider, they use their own shop to "rebuild" the Detroits, using aftermarket parts etc. Not near the quality of a genuine Detroit motor, as I have seen them in Altoona more than once. They like to rev higher than a Cat, but should go very well.

the main reason I dislike ratchets and trying to achive this while working them over your head. And yes I lubricant them every time I use them which is not that often.

Hauling machinery, it's the only way to go. Not to mention they are much safer.

I was joking about the chain twist. One of these days I'll throw my straps away. And carry my chains on my fancy rgn and help drive down the rates of RORO until then I'll help try to help my fellow scab step deck pullers the best I can.
