393.110(b)(3) Two tiedowns if the article is longer than 10 feet (3.04 meters), and one additional tiedown for every 10 feet (3.04 meters) of article length, or fraction thereof, beyond the first 10 feet (3.04 meters) of length.

An officer can interpret the rules how ever he wants. That doesn’t make him right. The law is very clear. One strap for every ten feet or fraction thereof. Straps are not required every ten feet.

Our company trucks make a living going out to Denver. Sometimes you get lucky getting $1 mile freight outa there but usually Gota bounce back to St Louis or over to Omaha to find anything. We got a couple of coustemers in Nebraska with tots of freight but they are cheep as hell too.

I’ve bounced back to Chicago a few times empty and didn’t think nothing of it. Especially if it’s late in the week. Ain’t no way I’m waiting on trying to find something good after waiting all weekend?

I was told it weighed 42k. Which is why my 3rd axle is down and I ordered permits. It only weighed about 37k

I used to automatically rate CO, WY, NM and UT loads as the same as central TX and figure on bouncing there empty. but being western Canadian TX oilfield was our bread and butter during slow times.
