Looks in the top 5% to me. What size was the tarp originally?

If I had $300 on the line and 10 hours to do it, my tarp job would be approx half as good as yours. Looks great.

Instead of the usual tarps I have now 4 ft drops 26ft long with flaps, I’m thinking about going without flaps, extra couple feet long, and extra d rings on the front and back.

Sometimes I get pissed about the flap. Especially folding them in the wind. Using the maverick method hooking it to the rub rail doesn’t work well with flaps on the tarps. I almost felt like leaving them there.

Work is work. More money, less time and effort means it works for me. I’d drive a couch but it don’t pay enough.

Work is work. I'm not putting you down. I did it for 20 years and it paid good. Then then tolls went up so much it just isn't worth it with extra aggravation and risk.I made a boat load of money doing it though.

Oxbow, Tug Toy and cke Thank this.

That's why you adjust your rates accordingly....tolls go up, rate goes up with it.

2 electric motors. Plastic of course lasted 5 miles. Rate sheet and broker say no tarp even if plastic comes off. I might tarp it anyway so I can feel good about it. These look expensive. Good news is I managed to get out of Laredo for a good rate. Sat until 5pm then boom. Plus it’s light.

I have the same tarps as you, lumber tarps is what they go by I only have the flap on 1 side though per tarp..... That's all I've ever used, so I dont know how different it would be having steel tarps with D-Rings on all sides and no flap... I've been considering buying just 1 for loads like this and smaller machinery pieces just to test it out... If I like it then I'd buy a second tarp...

    Tug Toy Thanks this.

Getting your money for the tolls wasn't the problem. I have a moral compass and there is something morally wrong to wait 2,3,4,5 hours to pay $100 to cross a bridge. And the added risk to your insurance and drivers license. And all 3 go up by the year. When I started the GW was $20 and water gap was $4 cash. Now you have to pre pay to get it under $125.
For anybody trying to get started out makes all the more impossible. I did 2 or 3 trips a week and my EZ Pass was around $2000 a month.
You can have it if that's what you like. I never say never but I'm done with. The place is a #### hole.

    cke Thanks this.

Wow that’s some expensive tolls. I do NYC and Long Island all the time but I always enter via the Verrazzano bridge. I guess I go to different places. I don’t even have eZpass so always have to pay cash.

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.
