Yeah a friend of mine has some, seems like a good idea. Sometimes 1 link is too loose and the next link is too tight. But @Kshaw0960 I think my buddy's binders also included some kind of positive lock to keep them closed

then again, if you gotta take time to adjust your snap binder and wrap a bungee around it, might as well use a ratchet binder.
Though I will admit, when I was hauling junkie loads of structural, snap binders were great to pull a bundle tight in 1 motion instead of winding a ratchet up tight more than once...

    Yeah these lock too.
They self lock and adjusting the binder is effortless since you do it when the binder has no tension.

Seriously for $30 y’all should try it. I was blown away. You hook it to the chain and pull the handle. Too tight? Too lose? Rotate the adjustment knob and you’re good to go in 5 seconds. Peerless ProLok66™ Adjustable Lever Loadbinder for 5/16" & 3/8" Chain G70

Do you by any chance know where those are made?

I've looked at the link you provided and went to peerless website and couldn't find any information on it...

I'm guessing it's not USA, as I'm pretty sure they would advertise that proudly...

I've seen those at truck stops for $75. Thought I'd like to try them, but not for that price. $30 isn't bad though.

I believe made in China like everything else. I have their folding handle ratchet binders as well. I had them on an open rack over a year and they are rusty but still work. I planned to upgrade to USA made ratchet binders at about $60 each and store them in my step box but decided to give these prolok binders a try.

I can’t soeak to their longevity though and can only say I like how fast they are. I think even in a step box everything will end up rusty eventually if you use them occasionally. I think I’ll end up with 10 of these and 4 of the USA ratchet ones.

@Kshaw0960 , I couldn't see the locking feature in your pictures and couldn't remember exactly how the ones my buddy had worked. Thumbs up, they do look pretty slick.
I've had expensive binders and cheap ones, they all seem to wear out one way or another...
I found I was using my snap binders more and ratchets less, so I would put 90 weight on the threads and keep them wound up so they would still work when I needed them.
