bossman says "turn on your 10 and call me as you get closer". so i get up at 3:45am (OMG, this is flatbed, solar powered hello) run thru MORE SNOW on the top of vail, get the poo scared out of me on some icy bridges and get back to the shop. I go in and boss says "take trailer over to this trench rental safety place and load up" so i go load up:

and drive back to Vail (city). downtown, little tiny no way out roads. "oh yeah, we just drive thru the pedestrian mall to get out". Sure enough little crazy but it works. BTW wasn't supposed to have that aluminum box. was 13'5" tall. umm should have brought a step deck. (the tunnel only takes 13'11, i measured like 3 times). and look at all that piddly stuff. yo, THIS IS NOT A PICKUP. it's a FLAT bed.

and i get there and the guy says "oh, we'll get you offloaded fast so you can go to your 2nd stop." ummm no, it's all yours.

turns out he only ordered 1 of those blue boxes (there's 3 there, 24x8's) and 2 sets of the spreader bars (pipe). so i had to take like half the load back. Those blue boxes weigh 11,000lbs a pair. That's a full load.

trucking never changes.

BTW, yeah for local. I worked like 45 hours this week (tues-fri) and I only worked like 7 hours on tuesday.

Friday of course they sent me back over the hill, but i forgot to take picture, sorry.

I’d kill for some snow. It’s hot as balls and my AC went out. I replaced every single thing 3 months ago. Driving along and AC goes out and smell smoke. Pop the hood and my AC compressor is smoking and my belt is missing. Grrrr.

That dunnage on the blue trench boxes sure looks like it'd be better closer to the outside...

probably, but you know, 20/20 hindsight and all that.

it was pretty even until i started strapping and chaining down on it then it started coming down on the ends like that.

Meh, it didn't move and it wasn't going to move.

Not sure if i posted this . Last monday i grabbed my other truck in SLC , put my Pete on the step and met very nice snow storm in Wyoming on the way back

yeah that's Coors Field in the background. totally a great place for a big truck to be. no really (again, /sarcasm)
