the usual way fabricated steel comes as a load. 10lbs of poo, 5lb bucket
someone asked a few pages back how you get some of it to behave. see the dunnage on the side (both sides) under the straps that's about the only thing holding some of those too small pieces down. -
That load looks like a cluster f***. Not sure I have the balls to roll with those beams and no chains or edge protectors on them .
Edit; zoomed in, I see the double up straps now. Wowcke and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
i honestly was going to throw edge protectors but they stuck my truck in the shop (with no notice) so i had a different one. And i didn't move all my stuff. they were pretty smooth to the touch. only about 50 mile run i figured it was worth it. None of the straps got damaged (minus the 3 i found in the extra truck that had huge cuts on them and I had to toss after throwing them across. really?? GDANGIT, THROW THEM AWAY. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr truckers are their own worst enemy.
final finish stuff, most of them don't want chains on that (some don't care)
and yeah, the load was a clusterbooley, cke and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
Question though, have you had any issues with chains and straps touching? I thought you couldn’t do it because a chain touching a strap is not allowed by DoT?
I’ve only done coils once so always learning. -
Dropped off onions and sat a day. Rates were absolutely horrible. To top it off Sunday in VA my AC compressor took a crap. Smelled something burning, opened hood on the shoulder and my belt was gone and my compressor was smoking. Since then I’ve had no AC and it’s been brutal. Been trying to get hotels until I get home. My dog is perfect in the truck but a real ahole in hotels I found out lol. Luckily my load back was an easy tarp job so didn’t burn myself up from the heat.
