Because the people arranging this are ignorant, so they just default to "must be tarped" just to be safe. The fact that it wastes the driver's time and the consignee's money doesn't matter in their world.

Trusses to Pagosa Springs. Yep, over Wolf Creek Pass (insert song video here). 12' wide, ALL over the passenger side. (and like 12' over the back).

better view of the overhang. (I didn't strap it, it was a preload, do not ask me what's going on in back there. it was ummmm odd)

pre-fabbed wall panels. 10' wide. downtown. (joy oh joy). They can put an apartment building in nothing flat. Even the sheathing is on it. They can put up a couple trailers worth a day. Kinda amazing.

I've seen several of those CNC laser machines rejected by the customer when they see that they aren't fully tarped. It's been happening alot lately. Wow

I think they didn't want to risk me getting tangled up with that DOT man again so today I bobtailed over to Brockton, where a couple guys helped me throw some straps and take this a half mile to the site, get it picked off so I could go home with the empty. Nice easy 9 hour day... IMG_2633.JPG

    road plates

Those big steel plates they put on the road when digging ditches, whatever. They have holes and such for them to hook them. 45,000lbs right there. off to Leadville, the city at 10,000 feet (no lie).

and yes, it's too far forward, my suspension gauge was high, so i had to go weigh it and pull the trailer tandems forward a few holes.
