This thread makes me wonder. I have never even seen a 300 in volvo, do they even build one that long?
I just found out in he last day or so that the cabs are steel, I knew they were heavy, so a volvo speced to run th eroad, may be way too heavy, 300, in wb and 46 rears, hmm not sure, and what motors and how big are available??

Another quiet week for me so here's one from a couple years ago. There are 2 beams there built as a frame. We did quite a few of these for one customer. They would pour a slab on top and deliver them as pre-fabricated bridge panels. Supposedly "inverset" bridges are cheaper and help reduce traffic disruptions... IMG_0319.JPG

CBAD5EE1-75C6-4AE6-BA1D-76C13A17B847.jpeg And when I delivered that building, I got to the job site Monday about noon for Tuesday delivery. Parked next to the woods and woke up next morning to this huge spider. I’m terrified of spiders!!!! It had made a home on my trailer!

VNL standard max is 241, although you can special order it longer. The VHD is a lot like the t8/w9, as it goes well beyond 300" for HH, dump, and vocational applications. They run d16s that are imported from Sweden and the same performance series Cummins X15 that is in my w9. 46k tandems, tri, quad, and more.
Yes the sleepers are steel. Trades weight for space. It's also the safest cab built imo.
I truly believe the reason many up there and down here like the Pete's and kw so much is the design hasn't changed in decades. Easier to rebuild when things happen, and they ALWAYS happen in your neck of the woods. Once you total a Volvo, it will protect you, and then it's done.

Volvo's are just ugly though. I know, it's not a beauty contest but still. Seems they can't pull a hill either. That's about the only truck I pass going up hilp and my truck doesn't pull hills worth a darn. No love for Volvo products from me but then again my love for Paccar products dwindles everyday that I drive my KW. They aren't built like they used to be. Freightliner puts out a better product now days.

Of the aero trucks, I like the Volvo the best. But for like 30mins after I get this white w9 washed, I LOVE IT.
Inevitably 30mins later I am back to what a PoS....
But then against, I'm the same way with bikes i will never be a Harley guy. I came from super sports, and now I'm a BMW guy. I prefer comfort, reliability, and tons of miles over chrome and looks. Here is a picture of one of my last loads to kinda keep us on topic .. lol 20190819_195145.jpg
