I was heading home empty and decided to steal the old man's backhoe on the way. Little overkill. Lol.

 

We finished our end of the contract early. Last empty trl im pulling back has a 10wide support frame on it. Now in the shop with a coolant leak and service. Back to steel for the forseeable.

 

I'm back from vacation. did you miss me? Went to world's biggest man made hole: (kennecott copper mine. totally awesome, the scale is just all wrong) That little bitty tonka toys that are close in that picture hauls (HAULS) 320 tons. weighs 1.1 million pounds loaded. Blow the picture up and there's a bunch of them on the far wall that is ......................2.5 miles away. it's 3/4 of a mile top to bottom. it's crazy

I aint seen a FOD shaker in a coons age. At first glance I thought some disturbed minion laid out a bunch of excavator teeth and you had the nerve to drive on em!

So i started with fabbed rebar. No pictures of that crap ever cuz well it's fabbed rebar and ugly doesn't really begin. I hate that stuff.

Then i went to pick up well i don't really know.


the guy explained it adn they sit 90 deg to what you see (you walk on the wood) and basically they go on the elevator core when they are building the core. so like elevator core scaffolding? i dunno.

I get up there after 10 minutes of back and forth.. and he is just sitting in the cab. Im like "hey.. What gives dude?"

It was his last day and they froze his fuel card. Frazzled, trying to get a tractor moved out of pocket. Thats class.
