12’ J hook concrete barrier wall weighs 4400# so you had less that 40,000 on the deck.

it's SUPPOSED to weigh 4400lbs each. I"ve heard that number too many times. Pretty sure that's a minimum.

I haul a LOT of barrier. it's right out or over 80,000k with 9 12' barriers (and i can take 48k with a combo or 46k+ with a steel). Sometimes way over, like 83,000 or 84,000. (yeah, those jobs only get 8 12' barriers).

My gauges with that load in the picture above (which is correctly spaced) was showing 35k or so on the drives (which is legal in Colorado, but of course that's going to be about 34-35k on the rear and put it over) and that's a steel trailer so probably 82k or so.

the really scary part of barrier is this stuff is heavy and all hooked together and I'm sure everyone has seen how damaged and moved out of place it gets all the time from people hitting it.

Wow, I’ve ran a lot of loads of barrier across scales with 10 joints in and never been over weight. Hard to believe it can vary that much there’s a little over a yard of concrete in one wall.

Dont think theres a rate that would get me back into NYC ever again. It was bad enough with the Volvo. I'm a good 15ft longer with my current setup. People there are ######## and the lanes are ridiculously small

you sure they weren't 10 footers? Cuz around here, it's 9 12 footers on a trailer, 10 10 footers and 12 8 footers. For everyone. And even then they can vary a lot. (new ones tend to be especially heavy).

and you know if they could get 10 or 11 on a trailer to save money they would. Cuz it's never a length problem it's always a weight problem.

    FerrissWheel and booley Thank this.

All we own are 12 footers. Yours might be a different spec I don’t know but I do know I’ve never been heavy with ten 12 footers loaded on a step or flat. I’ve sclaled a lot of them.

more stairs. (6 this time). wasn't loaded when I arrived (of course i mean IT'S TRUCKING). so by the time i let heat of rush hour. took 1.5 hours to go like 22 miles. ugh, at least LA has beaches

go into the heart of the "really good" neighborhood. to get some lumber. Yeah, that's the whole load. 1 bunk. Had to be a mis-delivery cuz it went from one contractor to a different contractor. Go deliver that and send me back literally 2 blocks from the above picture to get fabbed steel. This place has super nice guys, but it's a live load because there's no room to work, so it takes a while.

and who says flatbedders can't back. Imagine that open spot to the left full of all that steel, so there's literally room for your tires.

it's a pretty serious uphill too. it takes a while. People are SO HAPPY when they come over that hill and have to wait. They are all waving the "truckers are #1" hand signs and such. :)
