check the ladder on the outside. both sides. and it's actually 3 pieces there. 2 inside each other and the actual hammer is on the other side. They are about 4' wide (square) but the ladder on the outside makes it too wide.

me too, but it's better with dunnage

same weight, more concentrated area for friction to work. Also forkie is less upset at unloading.

So setting them side by side makes you overwidth? Is that legal there?

so, i'm supposed to go get 2 loads of 10' wide concrete forms. I get there, the guy has it all laid out in piles. ok we're taking these and these adn these. Ummmmmm Ya got a tape measure?

    1 set is 6' wide, 1 set is 11'6", another set is 15' 1"
ummmmmmmmm yeah dude I"m going to need a pilot car (and a whole lot of luck, that's going to be by far the widest thing i've hauled and it's going to some little downtown next to a hospital. ugh). So call my office, tell them the sitrep and he calls for a pilot car and says "load the little ones first, then do the big ones later and i'll have the pilot car be there"

Ok, so we get loaded. The guy's phone rings while i'm starting to strap. totally changes the list

We take almost the entire load off. He gets a new list

we figure that out (and no 15' wide ones yeah!!!!!!!!) and we start loading those and his phone blows up again. No no no, not those. Forkie loses his mind, goes and gets a manager and says "you figure this out". another 40 minutes go by, they finally decide what they need, we take half the load off again.

So 3 hours to do this mess

easiest day in forever (minus 90 miles (each way) of the roughest road ever). Drive 200 miles, load up crane weights and the boom and drive 200 back. Heck I even got to take a real 30.

OH yeah, i tried to run a chain on either side of the inlet of that ball (in the middle), but nooooooooooooooo the rear inlet is too small for a 3/8" hook. bah.

Carry extra cotter pins and just pull the clevis pin out and you can fit the chain through.

This, but I have also a lot of the times been able to fold the chain and stick the links through, then just hook the hook on he other side, it pulls up flat against the hole and holds fine.

so guess what I find today? (sitting on a trailer and not put away cuz apparently all truckers are lazy). a chain with only one hook. well that's awesome and i'm stealing it, but it's a little late.

I know, that hole is really strange. That's why i took that angle. Even the forkies were like "yeah, that weird one"

Nothing weird about it, it’s a doghouse manhole.
