I usually like running concrete, but talked to a coworker who had one shift this week. Two 20 ft x 4 ft panels, stacked on top of each other. 4 straps, clean deck (no ice), clean dunnage. He tapped the brakes and the bottom one slid right upto the headache rack. ??? Has that happened to anybody before?

ice or water on the concrete? that happens more than the ice on the deck (since around here all the stuff sits outside waiting for delivery/sell/whatever)

I don't worry about concrete moving around nearly as much as I worried about steel...most of the time, the stuff just sits there. Occasionally, if there's short pieces, they might move around a little. Like @LoneCowboy said, this time of year, the stuff is usually wet when it comes out of the plant and if it flash freezes instead of drying there might be ice. I had a load last month, the bottom tier didn't budge but the next 2 tiers kept moving to one side. Had to be ice between the slabs. It wasn't even a spring ride trailer, which sometimes will bounce the load around...very frustrating, eventually I added another tiedown to pull opposite of what I already had on there...

Last time I encountered those I was doing plumbing work in a hotel-to-be. We had to drill the ceiling and bolt the pipe hangers right to it with hollow set anchors. That was a trick because if you tried to drill between the voids you wouldn’t get deep enough before hitting reinforcement.

Then I noticed on the surface shadows appeared which allowed you to differentiate the areas you could drill from where you couldn’t. That came in handy.

Universities are always so much fun. Totally designed for big trucks with lots of room to maneuver. /s On the plus side, in the spring and summer the "scenery" is amazing.

My pretrip math said 475 miles. Ended up at 519 door to door. Figured the math out and it’s easier to justify way less tolls and 12 mpg average plus faster load n unload times bc receivers let you pull around all the FTL guys waiting to unload for their quick pick pallet.

an inlet, which despite them being called yesterday for it and me calling them this morning were totally unprepared to get it off. They finally put an excavator on each side and i drove out from under it.

Then got some manholes (which i totally forgot to take a picture of) and am trucking down the highway and all of a sudden i'm losing air like crazy and the compressor is running every minute

    What the ...............?

Pull over and well this seems to not be normal
