a couple loads of these from one side of the airport to the other.
    20200128_135924_resized.jpg

there was loads of room to work and safety first. (/sarcasm) (2nd time i backed in, cuz as you can see, no place to turnaround)
    20200128_135948_resized.jpg

then i had to pull this trailer out of that mess above and take it back to where it gets reloaded.

did a load of steel this morning to that earlier place where I had to go in the pit (and them flip the trailer with the forklift) and they FINALLY moved it around to the other side and you just drive in and get in the right spot and they whip it right off. Not only did I forget to take a pic but it was early and dark.

then off to get construction materials.

Ha, turns out to just be barrier. easy peasy. Notice they put them on dunnage. Way better this way easier for forkie, more weight concentrated in smaller area and the forkie doesn't leave little chunks of concrete all over my trailer.

tomorrow they are actually letting me go out of town. Off to Grand Island to pick up some steel.

    I'm all about the hotel.

Look at me I’m in Brooklyn again. These plank are thicker than what we been bringing, so I’m thinking maybe they’re for the roof? Oh darn, you mean this job might be almost done... 83D3EFA8-421C-43F4-9A4C-20D25A380093.jpeg

Not dead yet. And can confirm that trailer is indeed 10yrs older than me as well.

Heres some gear for concrete forms, (which in hind sight i really probably would have chained the bottom basket as oppsed to bellying. But she stayed put.

And a light coil. (Which i hadn't done one in 3 years.) 20200129_080605_HDR~2.jpg

meh, those baskets don't go anywhere, the ones i've done sit inside of each other, so they aren't moving. I don't even belly them, just toss the straps over the top. although i see that first set up front doesn't do that.

    so no freeloading

Went to go pick up steel in Grand Island Nebraska (I know, i felt like a real trucker, heck even got my truck washed, ate jerky, whole bit). at Chief Industries. THESE GUYS KNOW HOW TO LOAD. I wanted to call them out in a good way cuz they did an amazing job.

    20200130_155910_resized.jpg

you think, big deal, fabricated steel. Look closer, everything is banded and everything is touching. (here's a rear view, front was same way)
    20200130_155929_resized.jpg

notice the little pieces of wood to make it all touch (and they did this at every dunnage stack). And every load was like this (couple other guys ahd loads too). @booley as an old fab steel guy you'll appreciate this.

Not only that, but the loader had fall protection. (which no one seems to) and harness's available for the driver if wanted.

    right, it's amazing

we were all telling them how they should go to other steel places (I mean fill in the blank here, i'm sure it's a long list) and train them how to do it

BTW the loading foreman told me they ship about a million pounds of steel a week (so 40 to 50 loads)
