I strap only pallets often for some of the aerospace freight I’ve moved. They won’t ship it any other way... granted we’re talking a full trailer product weight of 6-7k and it’s not gonna “settle” the way rock or mulch would.

That is a beautiful tarp job there, sir.

    Here’s my contribution this week...

Denver, Dallas, Houston, and Corpus Christi drops. Bout 40k of scissor lifts. Trailer don’t look too happy.

Put 3 full turns in your strap so that its got a twist over the top and on each side and wont flap in the wind, then put something to spread the force ontop. Vee board, dunnage, brick screen etc.

Criss cross extra straps front and rear. If its real ugly youll need hand ratchet straps to pull toward passenger side. Dont winch the load over. Tall mulch shifts a lot.

    Never ever strap the pallet.

Bagged product sucks in general so dont take it cheap.. Not worth the trouble or risk of dumping it then paying cargo claim.

As much as they can put on you. Its a cheap product so volume and low freight are critical to their business. The buyers want maxed out trucks too.

Theyve got scales. If the broker says its 46k and you show up taring at 29k you can bet youll leave at 80. They make you weigh going in so they know how much they can jam on. And they dont ever put the strapping area AFTR the scale either. They have you bind it all down so that when youre 400 over you say whatever im sick of this place and just run it. Then it rains and youre 800 over by morning.

Don't ever go into those places with empty tanks because you will not leave with room to fill up either.
