No paper log books
"Chaffed" brake line
And had a couple flat spots on inside trailer tire where it was wearing irregular.... The rest of tire had over 5/32 . The flat spots was in the inside groove and was 0/32..
Tried to have tire replaced a month ago when it went flat on me. Company turned around and said no , just patch it.... Yep here we are a month later and i get the blame... funny how that works....i could tell ya if it was my equipment we wouldnt be having that convo...JonJon78, shawnhhllc, beastr123 and 2 others Thank this. -
right, i hate that. Just replace the fooking tire.
i also hate the chafing brake lines. really? it's like this thing we come up with when we can't come up with anything. -
Yep he went thru all the ticky tack stuff . Including the eld instruction manual u are supposed to carry..never been asked for that before, but i had it.. He had a card , checking my securement, looked at weight ratings on trailer for securement... went under my trailer and dissapeared for a good 30-40 minutes. Yep i knew he was gonna find something, no matter if my equipment came right off the showroom floor.Tug Toy, shawnhhllc, beastr123 and 2 others Thank this.

FerrissWheel and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Yep they werent even chaffed either. Just the airline going into the brake chamber was touching another airline. Had no marks on it watsoever to indicate any chaffing .... My safety dept chewed me a new ### over this tho.. Told me all 3 violations were "preventable" . Ill take the logs one, thats my fault. But the tire is on themFerrissWheel, farmerjohn64, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this.

You guys are straight-up outlaws

I'm proud of you for dodging the scale but it sux about the level 1... I'm not sure I could explain to a cop how to send my logs to him. I had a cop once just grabbed my tablet and between the 2 of us, we figured out how to do it...He was pretty decent about it, I think this might've been before they decided they could make money from our computer illiteracy...FerrissWheel, MACK E-6, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do yourself a favor and ask for a dated note that the tire is ok if your shop refuses to change it and keep it for the office in case of a OOS ticket. It seems to change a shop foreman's mind if he has to justify his decision.
I used to take photos and Email them ahead to the shop and this covered my butt more than once.FerrissWheel, Gearjammin' Penguin, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
