    So I’ve got 2 on the front second layer and 1 on the rear second layer; next time I think I’ll try to go for 2 for 2 because I had more winches

    Dang it! I shoulda just stayed in my wheel house. I just saw the third tier and didn’t realize it didn’t go the length of the load. Thanks for getting in here and smartening this thread back up!

    Is it 3 tiers high or just 2 , i always forget .. Me personally i always throw it at 2 if i got a big stack of something

    Each layer above 2 needs a separate tiedown so if you have 4 layers the minimum needed is 1 on the second, 1 on the third and then 1 on the 4th plus the "penalty" strap for not being against a bulkhead plus the 10 ft rule comes into play. This is for a stack under 8 ft long.
    This is a minimum and when I hauled lumber and steel I always doubled the second layer and added at least 1 extra over the top after making minimum on each bundle.
