Nice; what’s on the side of your trailer there? Almost looks like some kind of fancy tarping system, but maybe that’s just me fantasizing

You smart enough to know you need more training and to come on here with some good questions. You'll be fine. Just keep trying like you have been and asking questions.

you can always put the binder between the frame rail and the rub rail. (happens more often in oversize but it can happen with things right to the edge)
run your chain thru/over the time, hook it to the frame rail and hook your binder up down there (so the binder is facing "down" so to say). totally works. sucks bootie in the winter, but not such a big deal in summer.
also no problem with putting the binder INSIDE the widget. Anyone who's hauled RCP (reinforced concrete pipe) or other pre-cast knows that. there simply isn't enough room (the pipes are 8' wide) but they are plenty big enough to get inside and snap the binder down. if the widget is real fragile just protect the surface.
also on short items, with little room to put a binder (steel plate good example), run the chain thru your spool and instead of hooking the chain back to itself again again, use the binder to hook back to the chain. Then wrap the tail of the chain around the binder. It means you're only taking a half link instead of a full link when you tighten it (so with a snap binder you have to get it REALLY tight) but not an issue with a ratchet. so literally one end of your binder is touching the spool. Can usually work to give you enough room to make it work -
Same exact load as the previous load. 135 digger to Butler, Pa.
