I would get them to weld a piece of aluminum angle on the inside corner like you suggested. Go all the way across and l would be tempted to do the same on on the other side too.

I put the A-team on it this morning. According to them the best option was to weld a bead underneath where the crack was and then from the inside fit in a new welded 3/4 floor piece...

Welding isn't cheap... Took 3 hours to do both sides... $407....

    I'm happy with it though.

Ok...you guys saw that "load tears up tarps" thread, right?

Wouldn't using some of the lumber you carry on top of those places keep it from tearing them up?

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

This one loaded quick. 5 minutes then throw your chains. Any thoughts on my securement? I thought I remember seeing plate steel with that loop style on the front to guard against forward movement, but I'm not sure I got it quite right.

I dont think that would work. No way to secure the lumber and it would just vibrate off the top. I have had loads like that . Metal racks with tubing sticking up. Put all the padding u can on it and it still cuts thru . Part of the game of flatbedding .

Tug Toy, bigguns, cke and 4 others Thank this.
