Well after dropping that load of scrap, I had to drop the trailer and bobtail 250 miles for the next load. The load WAS the trailer. Asked if it was oversized before I left and was told no.

Oh and I got there just before dark and the guy asked if I brought lights for the trailer.... Ummmm NO!

Trailer has a spot for a light bar but this truck does not have one on it. So off to the store I go to get the parts to wire up some lights and grab a hotel as I have no sleeper and can't move anything over 10' after dark anyhow.

Oh and those legs on the trailer between the drives were down so I could not get under the trailer if I wanted to. They had to pick it with the loader and block under the front feet and then I had to drop the air to get under it.

The aerodynamics were wonderful, the conveyor acted as a spoiler and the rest as a sea anchor.

    Skidder from Lansing MI
    [IMG]

    Then dump from Wheeling IL
    [IMG]

The dump got off in NJ and the skidder goes one hour north of my house tomorrow morning.
I consider myself very lucky that these loads came together the way they did.
    I love moving equipment.

Just go around those scales and smile and wave at any bear that looks twice at your horseshoe shaped tires. Confidence is key.

Well, today was a bit different for me... My truck was in the shop to determine why the headlights were flashing from high to low and back when driving down the road. Really irritated the people coming at me.

Well I got to play pilot car today for 3 different loads of ours... Unfortunately the loads were ready to move when I got there.

Load 1. 2 rock crushers Pilot front and rear for the 2 trucks. We can bunch up to 5 trucks with 2 pilot cars.

Load 2. 16' wide haul truck. I don't know what size cat it was because as I pulled into the parking lot they were already starting to roll so I only saw the back of the truck. I had to turn around right away when we got to our destination to flag for load 3 of the day.

Load 3. These are always cool to see going down the road but I was front pilot on this one and it was pointed right at me.... We were moving an Abrams Tank.

Overall it was a pretty cool and interesting day for me.

PS. We only had to flag on the 2 lanes with 2 pilot cars and that is why picked up so many different loads today.

BTW they did find the problem with my headlights. The wires in the column were grounding out. '97 kw Kitty with 18 speed and 625 Percherons under the hood. I pass people all that time that I swear have shetland ponies under the hood. You have to laugh when you are grossing over 100k and have to pass people going up hill with a wide load. Sorry I am not going to do 30 when I can pull the hill at 50.

I'm curious, why you have the skidder loaded so far back at first?
