Unless he is leased somewhere more strict. Our lady always tells me I have to get one done within the next 2wks so plan to get home to do it.

Unless the gig comes through with the conestoga outfit, this was, ironically, my 3rd to last flatbed load. My first shifted load, in 20+ months of flatbedding. It shifted almost immediately after I left the shipper, I think. This was at a load check less than 25 miles out.

Frickin verco man. I hate that ####. Notorious for shifting, that is just usual business for that crap. I always put cross chains if it was nice and square but with the load u got its not much u can do other than keep throwing straps at it.

That was my 8th or 9th Verco load, and the first shifted one, so I don't feel too bad about it. I hauled some of that same decking from Longview, WA to Las Vegas, once, too. Ok, not Longview, right across the river to the south, forgot the name of the wide spot. Kelso?

Irrelevant side story: on my way out, on like my 5th or 6th load out of Antioch, I'm maybe 50 miles, less, up the road, and dispatch calls, asking how many straps I have on my load. I replied, I dunno, most of them (I had 16 straps on it.) Apparently, someone had reported a truck from my company leaving there with only 2 straps on! WTF! Are you NUTS?!

Lmao wow , yep i know the exact place ur talking about over in antioch. Ive seen guys leave that place with 4 straps over 48k pounds freight that had 8 tiers or higher and 50ft long...

i remeber one verco load, i threw something like 22 or 23 straps , complete with cross chains on the front and back and it still made me nervous going down the road.

Nope. I had the straps opposed. What probably caused the shift was, those three top bundles were painted. That paint is waaaay slippery. That, and I was short timing, probably took that left turn up onto the bridge approach a little hot. I SHOULD have done my first load check right after those RR tracks right there outside Verco, but, my head wasn't in it, I guess.
