    Yes
Any bagged product on a flat should be v-boarded complete end to end in my opinion

1X4 for sides 2X4 for the top and 6 to 8 inches between with 4 inch strap pieces works good and can be handled and stored easily.

I actually asked about the gap between the boards, but figured I could figure it out, and deleted that part of my post. Get out of my head!! Thanks for the tips.

The wire matt they gave me n the first photo I would hade used straps on.
With this stuff I thought it would be more secure with the chains.

Woot, found a load out of ND to IL and back, hugging $3.5/Mile!

Have to get that girl working to pay for that #### box she ripped off.

Not sure if I posted this gem. But your lime reminded me of this... not sure I’ll ever do it again. It got me a decent rate out of Colorado and back to Texas.

The bad part about the V boards is when there are mixed products of different heights. Makes it really tough. From this angle it looks like they would work okay but in reality from the side it was like the Rocky Mountain up and down.

This is one load I had them rearrange pallets and sent one pallet away to get one that was stacked better.
I almost told them to take it all off and adios. Broker said it was all mulch.
It was various consistencies of top soil, fertilizer, and 3 pallets of mulch. Mulch sucks. Top soil not bad. Crudely stacked boxes of miracle grow no bueno...

‘The plastic wrap did help tremendously. As you go back on that load I used 3 straps on the taller pallets because it helped take out the sway and gave me some confidence.

Crossed the 2 inchers front and back. I really wanted the cross straps to be more over the load instead of coming down kind of between the pallets but as I was tightening them down they would slide and of all the straps these never needed retightening and all I wanted was no forward movement. The rest of them... I stopped like probably 4-5 times in the first 150 miles to check them. The product was also wet so as I would snug them they leaked water. Which I think as nighttime came actually helped as the 18° temps froze them they held really well the rest of the trip down. When I was unstrapping ice chucks were coming with the straps. No bags were damaged and It will have to be a special day before I will book another of these. No bags were torn by some miracle.

Oh and my tarps look like hell, they were frozen when I was trying to roll them from the last load.

I don’t use the cam system to back up. I can’t, It is distracting so I often turn it off would rather get out and look if needed. I do use it to see the load going down the road.

On your cross strap. You may find that if you start at the front edge of the pallet, not behind it, your straps will stay in place better.
