Because the duals can be taken off. Do they ship them from the factory with the duals on? No. Just advice there is also the right way to do things and a wrong way. Just saying I think that's the wrong way

I think somewhere there is writino saying get it as small as you can. Like if it can be removed in an 8 hr work day it needs to be removed. I'd say either Wyoming or Oregon will be the ones that say something
Hurst Thanks this. -
Yes
You must call the port you are entering at least an hour before you get to it and give them your dimensions and truck info. They will give a number that "pre-clears" you to operate fr the border or loading site to the port.
Once you get there give them the number and then they will work your permit.
If you don't get the number you will be sorry and most likely get a ticket for some random amount l.
WY can be picky at some ports like I -25 in Cheyenne and laid back at others like hwy 85.Hurst Thanks this. -
I didnt think it mattered. You guys have the experience here on these.. not me. This is the first machine with duals I've ever hauled. So trial by error I guess.
Permits are paid for,.. I dont want to go back and pay to have them removed. i can deal with a slap on the wrist and I'll know next time I get one to have them removed and put on the deck.
I just thought $210 was a bit much. Figured as long as I permitted the correct dimensions it would be fine.
I'm gonna roll in there and hope for the best.
Whats a worst case scenario? Fine,..? Or will they make me call a service truck out to remove them?

They (WY) may not issue you a permit until they are removed. I suppose they could also give you fine if they wanted to.
Hurst Thanks this. -
The worst is both - a fine and a service call.
Or the trifecta, fine, service call and void your permit.
But do call ahead to WY, just google the wy poes and get the number - they are usually easier going if you try to accommodate themHurst Thanks this. -
they aint gonna say anything. they'll take your money and send you on. We have never called ahead and never been hassled. You sure don't look 12' wide tho...are those tires 24 wide? buckets on a loader are a good example, they can easily be detached, but we roll thru WY all the with the bucket wider than the tires.
