@staceydude I was just looking through my phone and found a better pic that shows how I run the straps through. So the arrows are pointing to both ends of the same strap

The customer I loaded gas pipe at would not let you out of the gate if your straps were on the pipe instead of the of the protector which can be seen in picture #2, the customer was just as picky if not worse.

Since I had winches on both sides of my trailer I put one from each side on the front and rear silos and one over the center silos.

Good thing I load it myself and let myself out of the gate! :bootyshake: Hehehe....

Seriously though, what you say about the protectors does make sense and I should probably be more careful of that, but I always thought those protectors were meant more for the plastic banding than the straps. I am never around when these get delivered to us so I don’t know how they come in. I just kinda invented my own way of doing it and our customer has been happy so far.

Those protectors do come in pretty handy and I always steal them when I find them laying around our yard. In fact, in that one pic I posted with the two concrete poles on my deck, you can see I used a few of them on there.

Every 6 months ya had to watch the video about hauling the stuff (made by Mercer) and before they would give the BOL they would check securement and take pictures. Would always say it’s impossible to get the straps too tigh hauling that stuff.

I never had any problems with the silo packs or coils. The 40’s leaned on me once.
