The most common setup ive seen is a 1” thick 4’x8’ sheet of steel thats bolted down onto the deck using flush mount holes so the bolt heads dont stick up.
Most dont take them off after initial install/
Catch basins around here are singles with a frame n cover over top where water is collected and piped out.
These units get water piped into them for storage and dispersal into the ground.
These run in rows; the pic i posted has 18 intermediates (runs) and 6 closures (ends)
The runs have 2 sides busted out and no floor; ends have 1 side busted out and no floor.
ill take a pic when they start getting them in/

LOL I hear ya... But it’s getting out of snow/ice covered jobsites that causes me the most trouble. Last winter I got stuck more times than I can count. And had a particularly bad experience when I got stuck on a hill in downtown cedar rapids during a blizzard in rush hour (that, and how I got myself out of it, is a story for another day).
I like that, is that 3 chains then? I have all the chains I could ever need.
Not necessarily, it just depends on the need. I have a company card for smaller purchases but everything over a couple hundred I need to get approval. This block was only $60 at the local concrete plant.
Yes, that is the problem. The forklift is 8000 lbs, plus the aluminum deck probably doesn’t help.
I did get new beefier drive tires this summer, so hopefully that will help.beastr123, cke, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this. -
I’ve seen that, and we may end up going that route in the future. Advantage there is you can load on top of the plate (I think?), so you don’t really lose any deck space. I was never real crazy about drilling holes in my deck... my trailer is only a couple years old and overall still pretty nice. I wonder how many bolts would be required?cke, PoleCrusher, blacklabel and 7 others Thank this.

I never climbed up on top to look see. Probably several other ways to affix it/ some more permanent than others. As you mentioned the benefit is no loss of deck space.
I know when you order a new moffet trailer theres an option to add weights under the deck on top of the fifth wheel plate, the manufacturer takes into account the length of the trailer, axle spacing and what size and weight the forklift is. For a 6k weight machine they add 1800 lbs on a 45’ trailer with a closed tandem.
for immediate results; your solution seems to be the cheapest and easiest as well as the easiest to remove if needed.beastr123, shooter19802003, D.Tibbitt and 9 others Thank this. -
