By the end of the day, my side box will be used to store nothing but six-dollar furniture blankets, and an old mudflap I found at a truckstop.

Yeah, but those trivial items save me big money in cargo claims.

Edit, the box on the other side has carpet, strap scraps, my 4ft tarps, machine tarp and smoke tarp.

I hear that a lot. We Claim to have one of the largest conestoga fleets in the country (we have well over 100 and just ordered 70 new ones). There’s plenty of damaged ones parked at the yard waiting for repairs, nearly all of them caused by shifting cargo because drivers wont do their job properly, or from drivers hitting stationary objects. I swear some of these drivers use Braille to get around.

A shipper would really have to screw up to mess up a tarp system, and that would usually also damage an open trailer. Just my opinion.

When I bought my toolbox, I just had to have a Docker Locker. What precious high quality tools do I store in it (other than the cart)? Clean rags lol.

We have shippers that have always loaded conestoga and then last year said no more. We have a few guys with them and are struggling to find loads lately. I've had more than a few shippers straight out tell me, no conestogas.

Then on the opposite end. A shipper I normally goto said no flats this winter and only conestoga......wtf? I want a conestoga something fierce. However I always get talked out of it. On the shipper/reciever side, I think they are scared their forklift are gonna dent the rails. Now they are on the hook for new rails. Because everyone is hard up for help, they are hiring sub-par help. Just my take.
