The crap thing is the time change. You have to wait on either side of the bridge and use the little phone for the police escourt. You can't go into NYC (o.d.) in daytime and you can't be in jersey at night. So...you just wait at the bridge. Funny thing about that crane load, I was issued blank permits. NY and NJ literally told me to figure it out. When I finally got into NJ, there are toll booths there. I parked after the bridge because the all looked the same. Now mind you, my police escorts have the bridge completely shut down. So there is a line of cars....who knows how long backed up into NY. The guy comes running out of the building pointing toward the last booth. So I start that way and they let traffic go. Told the guy I wasn't gonna fit. Guy got frustrated and said the last booth is the biggest. So I start through the booth at a snails pace. The guy is getting impatient and is waiting me on. Still going the same speed, I tell the guy I'm not gonna fit. He says to keep going. Long story short i took their toll booth for a ride. Moved it like 6 ft or so. Had to get a crane to get the toll booth off the crane....lol.

Load of pine from WA to KY. Fortunately they had a tarpping machine, it was ice age sloth fast lol, but it was easier than spreading the tarp over the load on a windy day…

Lol thanks it really depends on the height of the load, this time I was lucky so I could keep the transition covered, sometimes I have to leave a gap and just put as much tension on it was I can.

probably 48 flat but eventually one day i think it would be in my best interest to diversify with a reefer being down here in southwest AZ, very close to the good reefer market. but just an idea at this point

I'm not disagreeing, but the idea of dragging a reefer around ....well....just makes me ill. I'd go crazy.
