Wow I woulda told them take that #### off too. That's a accident waiting to happen. I'm sure that old phrase " we have guys hauling it all the time without problem” was muttered at least once to somebody.. And that is my que to leave their property and put them on the list

On top of that, there was these 2 palletts on the tail of the trailer. I asked to have them turned and moved ahead a foot and at least set evenly beside each other. Was told no.
On top was a loose box of screws, I picked it off to put it in my side box and the bottom exploded, I tried to bend over quickly and catch them as the exploded from the bottom of the wet box.... and had an argument with the corner of the pallett...it won.
And for all of it I get to spend the weekend at a truckstop...Nostalgic, PoleCrusher, beastr123 and 10 others Thank this. -
He said yes everybody does.
I pointed to the load. This is this weeks mistake.
He admitted it was the end of the building, and all odds and sods. The loader "lady" was home and had to come back in, she was not happy. She shouldn't have rushed. Commonsense is long on the bottom, and that crate on top so I could strap the steel tight, then deal with the crate.
I offered to fix it, give me a forklift and a driver, and some of your dunnage and a spot. I'll fix it.
They declined. I left.Nostalgic, PoleCrusher, jmarc77 and 12 others Thank this. -

Wasnt going to post this pic but WTF. in for a penny in for a black eye...
I'm having a hard time, and beating myself up a little for letting this get so far. I just didnt want to fail... and so, ended up doing it spectacularly.
Trust your inner gut. It's usually correct.
I TRIED, you had to put the straps over the crate where they are, because of the 2x4 pallett of finish metal on the other side. I barely looked at the straps as far as tightening them. And....
I should have looked closer BEFORE they lowered it on my trailer, and stopped them right there. But I signed on with a new company and was trying to do it all right and not make any waves... and well, here I am.. my biggest mistake was not cutting it loose way before I got to strapping. I knew what was going to happen, but still did it.
Lesson learned..Last edited: Jun 3, 2022

Kind of an odd load for rgn but it’s overweight lol
First load we double stacked the top and had more on the neck and tipped the scale at 98k
Feels kinda wired watching someone else drive your truck -
@Elroythekid Good for you!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. It's amazing how even when your right in this business, your the bad guy.
I would like to have some time back yesterday to ask the big boss if he would want his wife and kids/grandkids riding along in their mini van beside that, knowing a crate made from 1 in strapping was holding the steel on.
Thanks again!
