They dont want the flappy ends tight tho, might break the composite decking. "Just keep the straps snug only, or it will break." I just wanted the 12ft lengths put above the 20ft lengths. I'd been down the road. No go.

I don’t even think it would break if you put super tight straps right where the 20’s overhang the 12’s? I can tell you that you can go pretty ####### tight before all that slippery composite decking won’t be acting like it wants to slide around. If you’re listening to the shipper on how tight to get your straps, you’ll probably end up finding out how heavy each piece is on the side of the road// bc they’ll move around n need to be shifted back to the right spot.
Not saying any of this with attitude-
But I have hauled a lot of loads just like that, and I may or may not have had to shift the whole unit of 16’s one time by hand when that stuff first got popular. Anymore I am too old and too fat to be doing #### like restacking product that’s long, heavy and doesn’t really support itself when picked up in the middle.

if you want to PM your cellphone number, I will FaceTime you and walk you through it?

I left it up to my boss. His company, his trailer, I got a different load, I'm happy and headed home. 1 drop instead of 4.
He really is safty conscious. If we are uncomfortable with anything we can send it to him and he makes the decision. I'm happy that way. Not worth being on the side of the road, or worse a scale, trying to get s boom truck out to redo a load. Been there, way to old and fat to do it again. Dont need the agrivation.

3 loads today. Took a preloaded trailer of crane parts to a jobsite near Utica. When I was empty had to go back to Herkimer and load piling for the same job, delivered that and went back to Herkimer to pick up a trailer with the pile driver on it and bring back to the jobsite.
    Not bad for an old man… 21EDE86C-FA75-4A98-8FFE-CCEBA76FA44D.jpeg AE353DD0-5E46-42A6-8A9F-65D0774BCDAE.jpeg DF19A35B-5C46-49B0-95BD-D284918FDEFE.jpeg

Hahaha! The contractor has a boneyard right in the doubles compound at the Thruway exit and the jobsite is right on the Thruway near the Schuyler rest area. The other day, there was a nice lady who would open the gate for us behind the rest area so we could sneak off the toll road but today I had to go to Utica to flip around.
