Same #### different hole in the ground. Straight north and east of where it says “177” on the map.

Used to haul out of US Stone Industries in Herington, Ks. Truck load after truck load of 4” full veneer back to our main yard to get run through the saw and turned into 1” thick thin veneer. Gravy loads, just heavy. And probably cheap but we’re were hauling for ourselves. 9C84FDF2-2126-4B3B-ACBE-DBF55D92F6ED.jpeg

Yes i did talk to that guy and he was a big help. That is what i love about this site, is guys helping eachother out even know we all compete against eachother in business, its all about passing guidance without giving away your trade secrets or info.. Really i think thats the best way to learn . cant read any of this stuff in a book.

Stone works out good for me. If the trucks are in the west there’s a good chance I’ll bring them home with stone. Anything from skidded random builders to 25ton granite blocks depending on what quarry it comes out of. Even got into distributing some of the manufactured stuff. That’s what I had a hitchhiker lift on one of the trains for. You’re right though, I haven’t had a light load of the stuff yet. Pays to put your fuel on before you load.

the advantage you have with a 2+1 out west is you can scale more weight than a closed 3 - in non-20k per axle states.

take California Arizona Nevada for example - you will be able to 46700 (approx depending on axle spacing) on the tandem and 23350 on the booster for approx 69k versus a closed 3 where you will 59k or 60k depending on spacing.

you can get approx the same all the way to Florida (there is one state where you can only get 44/22)

states like Nebraska and Oklahoma- not so much.

the west coast Eve we beam will split the weight across the trailer and booster 2/3 1/3 ( so it is even on all 3 axles) based on where the pivot was built on the trailer. The shims will allow to change the pitch of the booster so that you have even travel at the front of the beam . IE so the beam can travel both up and down while going down the road. If you are bottomed out or tipped out the weight won’t split right but more importantly, the suspension will not function as intended.
When the booster is off, you will discover that you must load farther back than you think. This is because the trailer axles ride on the pivot - not on the frame like a traditional trailer. So the center of weight for the trailer will not be half the distance from king pin to center of axle group in the trailer but instead the king pin to center of the pivot - so likely 1 or 2’ further back in the well.

    hope this helps

WTF times are we living in when you flag down the mailman in a small town to ask about an address, and the first thing they do is bust out Google Maps?

Ok that makes sense. Thank you. While I've been around these and helped build these. Learning to run one is a whole new thing for me.

So I truly appreciate the advice.

no worries - if you have questions ask

I assume they showed you the travel blocks to use when you break off the booster?
