    Yeah I read that.
Not sure if I just got lucky or if its a discretionary thing? I rolled soon as I got loaded, stopped to pee once. I barely made it to the Ga line before dark.

I need to call Ala DOT and ask someone who knows exactly what their policy is and what they are enforcing. I know its written there in black and white. But its not always that simple.,. if Ala DOT allows travel with restrictions that I met,.. then I'm good. If not,.. then if I roll a dozer like that through there again,.. I need to rethink what I thought was a really good paying load. Probably a reason they paid what they did.

I'm not here to pat myself on the back and try to tell everyone how great I am and how much money I'm making.

There are people on this site that feel that is what they have to do. I feel sorry that they have to do that. Really I do.

When I say if you only knew it is its because you made assumptions in the past about the loads I haul. Do you recall saying
you take loads like that out of a bad area??? Once again if you only knew. I won't say what I'm getting but i'll give you a hint. You post the "sweet" rates you're getting and I just kind of grin.

I'll look past your "mod status" again. We all put our pants on one leg at a time.........

What is sweet for me may not be sweet for you. I know what I need to make to be profitable and I do not go after a load that I do not profit from. I have and do sit for days before I will 'Settle' on a load to get me into a better area. I went through this back in Jan and Feb. I had a really tough time. Some loads my profit is not what I would like to see. Some I am very happy with.

I suppose it comes down to costs and expenses. I know I have a lot to learn in this business. But with all your experience and expertise,.. smug opinions etc,.. I on the other hand am quite content. This is all exciting for me as I continually do better and better as I learn how and where to improve.

So I imagine $2.50 - $3.50 mi is chump change for you, at least thats the way I am comprehending your remark? For me thats #### good money. No, thats not my average CPM. I wish. For example,.. I'm on a load now paying $2650 for 1228 mi including a 100 mi DH. Then I have a reload set up,.. and doing this as a favor. My intention originally was to DH and get a load out of Chicagoland for good money,.. but instead taking a load to Baltimore for $2050 for 1000 mi. The 2 dozers I hauled both paid over $4 mi,.. the larger one was actually almost $5 mi. The run I did from NE down to Tex paid $3.88 mi. To me those are great rates. I averaged 6.17 mpg from NE to Tex. The small dozer I averaged 6.22 mpg and the large dozer I managed to eek out 5.45 mpg. The 'Cheap' load I am on now is a load of CVS Pharmacy signs crated up,.. total load weighs 8000 lbs. So yeah,.. low on the rate totem pole, but I should net well above 6+ mpg the whole way.

So I think I understand why you 'grin'. Personally I dont care. I will continue to do my own thing and continue to learn and improve as I make my own way.

    Edit:

Never be afraid to say whats on your mind to me. I can take the punches and dont hold grudges. The worst I may do is respond with a sarcastic comment like above. The one thing you may consider is if you are truly angry and have something you need to get off your chest that may not be appropriate out here,.. just send me a PM and tell me how you really feel. Sometimes its good to vent. But be warned... to me this is just the internet,.. I can turn this off and go home and be with my family and never think twice about anything that was said or done here. I will never change anyone. Thats not my intention. You're going to 'Grin' and have your own opinions no matter what I say or do. I can only share my experiences and opinions with those who are interested enough to read about them. What you or they get out of my posts is not for me to decide or dictate. And If I am wrong about something,.. correct me. I dont want to be known for passing along incorrect information.

I have never said a thing about rates I am getting anywhere on this site. Never have and I never will.

You made a "smug" comment about the freight I haul. Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions based on appearance???

I'm done with the discussion carry on and lets get back to posting pics in this section.

It was just like any other permit.

    Had width, height, length etc.

Only restrictions stated were the usual about holidays, no travel on single 2 lane roads with out escort, travel only permitted sunrise to sunset. Amber beacon visible 360. Travel restricted to I20 only.

That was it. Nothing I saw to make me think I was doing anything wrong.
