Last trailer I redecked with red oak, buddy of mines father has a sawmill. Gonna see what he has available. Thinking about going thicker on the decking, like 8/4; and debating chop outs in the deck with D rings out by the rails vs chains pulls. Gotta get some boxes for it as well.

Out of curiosity, how frequently do you need to refurbish a working trailer?

Idk. I tend to buy brand new and sell before they need brakes.

7-8 years here in the South.
Boards get rotten because of the humidity and rain.
Chemicals play a part in that to if you haul oil field.

Did this trailer come with with the donkey lift you refurbished?

It did. Couldnt justify 75k for a new one for something thats likely to be a yard ornament 99% of the time

That’s one of those things that when you need it, you need it.

I didn’t have enough caffeine in me when I responded. The trailer came with the piggyback mount. I bought the machine seperate a couple months earlier. Initially, I was going to use the top mount bracket that I have, but figured that would end up taking up too much room on the deck of whatever trailer I put it on and invalidate that trailer for about anything but moffett work.
