What you are calling a belly wrap, I actually call a choke. The Idea is to get as much work out of it as possible. The squeeze to put clamping on the internal components, as well as downforce. Going over, under, over is the method that is my preference.

Quick load to Windsor Ct
cke, CAXPT, God prefers Diesels and 5 others Thank this. -
Loaded up for Monday morning.
I hate open top machines, nothing but grease and oil to stand on. Second time hauling this one in the last 2 weeks.cke, CAXPT, God prefers Diesels and 5 others Thank this. -
Used machines in general suck. Nothing but sharp edges to ruin tarps and enough oil dripping out to keep the deck slick for the next year.cke, CAXPT, God prefers Diesels and 3 others Thank this.

I did a CNC machine from PA to Laredo that was won in an auction from the business in PA that closed it’s doors. It was a thousand pieces of oil covered sharp steel and the whole time it’s sad and depressing because the business owner was there super depressed and ranting. Worst load and worst tarp destroyer I’ve ever done.

Yea that's another issue with them. I've refused to load them in the past. Broker booked it as 1 piece. I show up and it's the machine and 5-10 other parts that can't be put side by side and also need to be tarped. Usually I end up using the machines as a fill out to get home so I have other partials on the deck. The shipper is mad because now they have riggers sitting there and a truck that's refusing to load. Broker is mad because they got caught lying and were hoping for another sucker. I leave happy to not tarp a greasy pile of knives.
They are really just not worth the effort unless you have a Conestoga or the load can pay for a new set of tarps. -
Don’t these shippers and brokers ever provide pictures of all the pieces being shipped, so the driver knows what he’s getting into?cke, CAXPT, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this.

If they did that they would never get the stuff moved.
I'm usually willing to work with a shipper to get something figured out but I'm not going to cover for a shady broker. If they want to book an entire truck load of freight for LTL prices then I have no problem telling the shipper that their broker screwed them as I pack up my stuff and leave.
These brokers are just hoping that they'll get one of the white volvo crowd that will just accept getting screwed.
They don't want somebody who actually cares about their equipment and also cares about the freight they haul.cke, exhausted379, CAXPT and 7 others Thank this. -
That makes sense.cke, CAXPT and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Never worked this hard in a long time. 5 loads in 6 days. One oversize, 4 tarped. This right here is all kinds of different steel squares tubing with razor sharp edges. Luckily I bought felt couple days prior. I used 4x 8’x6’ padding and 3x 12’x15’. This is the best riding tarp going down the road I’ve ever done it’s not moving an inch with 20mph winds. It overhangs the front a foot so didn’t think it would do as well. I used 1 piece per side of half inch nylon wrapped rubber bungee rope 55’ and it worked great.
