I always put a hardwood block or 2 3/4” plywood squares under the knuckle - it will keep it from wanting to dig a hole in your deck.

Just watch the location of the grease fitting so you don't stuff it full of wood. Usually they do not end up right on the part where that meets the deck.FerrissWheel, beastr123, cke and 5 others Thank this.

Well... I’m sad to report this fun job I’ve had for the last 3 years is coming to an end
. Various shenanigans in the office were really starting to wear me down and I put in my notice this week. I am not happy about this at all. I worked so hard for these guys, doing everything I can to please the customers and build our reputation. I work tirelessly every day, haven’t even taken a lunch break in months. Yet I am surrounded by inept co-workers who F off all day and a soft management that continually sweeps it all under the rug.
The main reason I have always enjoyed being a local driver is because, no matter how rough of a day I have, at the end of the day I get to park the truck, slam the door closed and go home and relax, calm down, have a beer, etc., and the next day I am refreshed and ready to go back at it. That hasn’t been the case these last few months. I find myself going home mad almost every day, and still being mad in the morning.
Anyway, I landed a job with a well established local construction company doing flatbed moves. Sounds like I am going to start out mostly hauling precast pipe. May turn into some heavy haul lowboy type equipment moves in the future. That’s a little outside of my realm, so I may have some learning to do. So be ready for me to ask some dumb questions in the coming weeks... LOL
Sorry I guess I went on a bit of a rant here... again I hate to leave this gig, I love what I do and I’ve enjoyed sharing my ugly load pictures on this thread. I guess we’ll see what happens! -
You didn't quit the job
You quit them!
