We were going down I75 towards Atlanta last year with me at the back of the pack and a guy with a gooseneck goes screaming by with a mini excavator on the back with a single 2" strap across the tracks holding it down. By the time we rolled into the scale just south of Chattanooga they had him pulled to the side looking stuff over.

One bad thing about the warmer weather-- at least when its cold the mud is frozen and we can stay on top of it instead of sinking...

My load yesterday back to Wausau from Milwaukee. These are angle iron bent into a "C" shape then stacked and banded together. 18 bundles of varying radiuses. Another trucking company came in on Tuesday afternoon and the driver took one look at it and refused to haul it. Sure it was a pain in the butt to stack it together like a puzzle, but by the time I stacked a couple pieces of dunnage in front and chained it all down it was "locked together" and couldn't go anywhere. $900 on 180 miles.

ATS aka Sureway has been dropping rates like crazy, a few years back they paid better than LS at one point.
Now they are sounding like TQL when you call them or read their emails. "no we usually move it for this rate"
