I am a company driver. Only reason I know what it paid was I asked if it was worth it. I get 24% of that so I got $1.20 a mile basically to drive home. When I got to the receiver they dug through the whole load to find the particular stack they needed first, so I guess it was HOT and the rate reflected that.

I'm thinking it prob had more to do with the fact that the other driver didn't have a conestoga trailer and was gonna have to tarp it??

They didn't have to be tarped. I have the connestoga for the loads of crates I am bringing down, those need to be tarped. All the shipping clerk said was that the driver the day before took a look at all the pieces and told her flat out "I cant haul it". I wont lie, it took me four hours to load and secure it, but I don't think it is a load that anybody on this forum would say they couldn't haul. Do you?

No, Like you stated. You had to study a bit on how to ld. it and then tie it down.
Sometimes we get ourselves over whelmed and just need to step back and study it from a distance, not close up

It doesn't really look that bad as long as each piece has two points of contact on the dunnage and doesn't rock on you it looks not too bad. Maybe the other driver wasn't sure how to load it?

Nope. If its unsafe because the shipper wouldn't load it correctly then I would pass. If its just a case of a little extra work no problem. I regularly have 2 hours + into securing my direct shippers loads. The pay makes it worthwhile so who cares.
