Same here, trying to get out of the frozen north for Alabama but a blown airline fitting had other ideas…I see a wash in my future!

 

Hauling a new flatbed body for a guy that parks where I do.
Least it gets me right back to the yard?

 

Well...you are retired, so you've said, ...you just can't take a hint.

 

Actually I think it’s my boss who can’t take the hint. When he hired me he said, “I know you’re retired so I won’t get mad when you want to take time off”
Now it’s like, “oh you’re going away for 2 weeks (or a month) so you’ll need to work full time to make up for it”
It’s a good relationship though. Been doing steel for 35+ years so it’s something I enjoy and they help the old man all the time… the only hard part is getting out of bed every morning…

 

Been hauling these cans all week. 2 one day 1 and a pre load the following, back and forth.

 

Right when you’re getting ready to go get your Monday load on a Friday to beat traffic, you get a call for a hot load that pays well to deliver ASAP . Yup….. I took it.

 

Finished this one up today. 6 deliveries on there.

 

I hear you, a good relationship is important...and I hear you about the difficulty of getting out of bed.
The last 3 days, I've been getting up to clean up the overnight snow drop. Still getting over the flu the wife and I got about 3 weeks ago, and this was the first "exertion" that I've had to do since the flu and I feel it...first day felt like I was going to the hospital. Today, wasn't as bad, but it's still letting me know my age and conditioning.
