    Haha, the boss loaded for me the other day I just had to deliver it to RI…so technically HE used chains…I had to take them off and put em away though ;)

    Darn, I read your post later on that the fault is your bosses, which takes the wind out of my sails to post this to you. :)

    Now, we just have to work on getting you to use them properly. You missed the eye. :)

    He had the hook of the chain on the leg and nothing fell off the truck ;)
    The hook didn’t fit the eyes. On the other side he used both eyes but fed the chain through the eye and then brought the hook around to hook to the chain
    Hey gimme a break I’m new at this ;)

    IMG_2170.jpeg IMG_2174.jpeg Well since I obviously don’t know how to use chains and binders properly…I’m going back to straps:p
    Delivered a bridge frame this morning and then managed to pick up 3 loads @ 65’ (they were all the same so only one picture)
    @Diesel Dave check it out 65 on a 48 :)

    So here’s a question for you operators: whats your fifth wheel height?
    Mine’s 52” and has been. Hasnt ever really been a issue, though on occasion i do have to get creative with taller loads.
    ^ the guy that loaded this on me (i only ever take 8 bundles so it doesn’t matter for heighth) was busting my balls that the canades that bring them in run them 2 high front to back.
    These units vary from 50-54” tall depending on how squished they get over time with others on top of them.
    I realize different trailers have different neck profiles; hell i have 4 different heighths myself on my own wagons-
    That said, I don’t have any that are short enough of a profile that even at 47.5” coupler height could take 108” tall on the trailer- shortest neck to deck profile i have is 10” (+47.5” + 108”= 165.5”)
    Due to a circumstance beyond my control, I’m prolly gonna strip the full fenders and get lower chairs for this fifth wheel to get the height down a bit. But it still aint gonna be low enough to take 108” unless maybe i run 255/ rubber all around? man that would not tickle my fancy lol
