Yes, grassy knolls are your friendand the only reason I wear a (slack) belt now is because I got fed up with paying the fines. Belts are only effective if you have a sudden, unexpected, stop. These can be largely, if not completely, avoided by employing defensive driving techniques. Although they were fitted in lorries before I retired, it wasn't the law then to wear one, so I didn't. Aren't they fixed to the seat in trucks which have floating suspended seats?
