These are fairly modern photos which, very unusually, seem to combine the modern arts of strapping with the ancient art of roping. A short explanation of the vehicle and load. This company is based on a large island off the west coast of Scotland and as such trades with the mainland only by means of an expensive ferry service. Thus the reason for the very mixed load of freight. But why the securing mix? Is the driver very old school, or did he simply run out of straps?
Sadly, although this clearly shows the roping of the load, it doesn't show the famous Dundee, or Scotch, Cross. Maybe he ran out of rope as well.
