Well, that would be a good option.

Dumb question time. Haven’t pulled a flatbed since 2017 or so. Followed this Kaiser truck up to Tacoma today and started to wonder, Is there some sort of rule stating you don’t need banners for some pieces? This piece was easily over 9- 9.5 ft wide and he just had flags and beacons going.
-
Anyplace I’ve pulled would require banners, now on my last OD load I did loose my rear banner and replaced it when I stopped for a load check, but if he didn’t have one on the front I’ve got nothing.
-
I could be wrong now but I believe WA and some other western states only require flags up to 10ft or at least used to.cke, Diesel Dave, Rugerfan and 7 others Thank this.

Section 3 and 8 here:
WAC 468-38-155:
Washington requires signs and flags for all oversize loads. Lights required at night on any wide part that would normally be marked by a flag.Last edited: Dec 4, 2024

Don’t know about other states but lately it seems like a free for all…saw a guy a few months ago with a large crate that had to be 12’ wide. No signs, flags or strobes…
But he was running with his high beams onElmerFudpucker, OldeSkool, exhausted379 and 11 others Thank this. -
Last utah permit I had was like that.. I think 10ft wide and under can run no banners...
every washington permit I've seen had to have banners for overwidth... you can run overlength without them but only to a certain dimension of overhangcke, Diesel Dave, Winnyf1 and 7 others Thank this.
