Yeah, rpm (within reason) doesn’t hurt anything, but running one up against the governor all the time sucks.
My old Cummins is really happy at 1,600-1,800 rpm, and that’s where I like to be if I’m going to work it hard. It will turn 2,300 if it has to, but I almost never do it.

It's good you have diversity. Some times that's the key to staying afloat. I was just picking at you anyway. I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up. Doesn't look like I ever will .

New engines don’t have a governor like the old mechanical engine do. It’s an electronic governor not mechanical with fly weights. Completely different animal. It will not cause damage like it used to.

 

Is this rig making your life easier? I like the setup and the flexibility it gives you with your new trailer.

 

well, certainly not enough to justify the expense lol
