Well today was a waste. I was sent to pick up a CAT 320 excavator to take to Utah. So I hooked up to the 2 axle RGN and headed out. 250 miles later I pull into the pit to pick up the excavator and ....... it was NOT a 320. What I found was a 336 instead. I verified that was the excavator that was to be taken and yep it was not moving today. The excavator I was supposed to pick up was to weigh 47k pounds but this monstrosity weighs in at 86k pounds. Well back home to swap to another trailer.

  4. Was gonna ask is it a 336E.L. (the big hydraulic version) They run 86,200 wet.
    336E H. (Hybrid). Runs 82,000 wet

There's a lot of varience in 336's ours is a standard 336 and it weighs a smidge over 81,000 full of fuel. Another company in town has a fleet of them and their heaviest one is 88,000+.

  7. My only thought was he had multi drops, and was trying to be California legal with axle location.

But other than that. I would not want to be the buyer of that step deck after that for lift stress.

I would have moved to the other lane too. That tarp looks like it may come off and drag the forklift with it... LOL

I've done that before. Picked up partial before getting main load,.. or partial thats left after unloading main load. Though,.. my trailer is spread 95% of the time.

Looks like a Fontaine. If you look at some of the loads I have had on mine,.. that trailer will be fine. Fontaine flexes like an olympic gymnast, but they dont sag or bow out of shape too much even with the heaviest of loads. Been pulling mine almost 2 yrs and other than tires and eating the first set of drums shoes prematurely,.. its been a great trailer.
