    Nope.
Sad to say, I haven’t trucked as cheap as I did in February since 2008.
Doesn’t matter how much I liked the work, I’m not doing it for the fun of it. I was $0.50 a mile under my break even cost of operating last month.

I've resorted to being a vulture for fall offs and weekend recoveries. Not saying it's a great business plan because I stay home a lot and total revenue sure has tightened up the belt a notch or 2. Less miles = Break-even cost just keeps going up. Not to mention how ALL insurance policy renewals have been averaging about 30% increases since last fall.

Hopefully they’re paying you decent. I can’t get a decent rate out of anyone in Dubuque. Heck, I haven’t even hauled a Bobcat in almost a year.

I knew you were in the area....and that snow came with you, that I asked you not to bring....not much, but snow just the same. :)
Don't go to Houston until we know how TX2Day is doing. :)

Man that’s a shame. All that stuff used to be money. I definitely wouldn’t haul that heavy #### AND lose money

I sat down and talked with them before I started. What he told me their local guys were making was on the low side of acceptable for running heavy, and pulling a somewhat specialized trailer.
I wasn’t even close to making what he said.
After their percentage was taken out, I was under $2.00 a running mile for the month of February.
    Completely ridiculous, and unsustainable.
It wasn’t a matter of hustling a little harder and making up the difference, it was a matter of utterly terrible rates and not being anywhere close to making a reasonable amount for the weight, equipment, etc.
