You are a busy beaver. Jump in the tractor and plant corn then jump in the truck. I'd settle for half of your energy.

You’ll like that wheel. Did the Jimmy a month ago and the Columbia today.
I really like the leather wrapped ones. But the solid painted ones for dirty hands…Last edited: May 31, 2025

I had to replace my leather wrapped this year, it was worn and the stitching was starting to come apart. I did not know, but under the leather wrap is just a regular pebble type plastic/poly wheel - identical to the non-leather wheels they sell. Just a heads up if anyone else didn't know not to toss them because the leather was junk.BoostedTeg, cke, sawmill and 11 others Thank this.

I did a leather wrap on the steering wheel of a truck I recently bought. The 20YR old rubber coating was pretty worn out. Picked up a kit off Amazon for less than $20 and it feels just as good in my hand as the OEM wheel in my newer pickup.
Took a couple hours to stitch it in but better than trying to source a whole new wheel.

It's a 2006 c5500. Bought it from my company for the low end of the auction estimate. Not 100% sure what the plan is yet but I've been just cleaning up the interior for now and making it a little more comfortable to drive.
A little over 400K on it but they replaced most of the expensive things that could fail in the past 5 years. It's got typical Wisconsin rust but the frame is still solid. Probably pull the bed and blast/paint it eventually if I end up keeping it.
Used it the other day to haul a bunch of fence panels and posts for my sister. So I'm sure I'll find more uses for it.

That turned out real nice…cke, CAXPT, broke down plumber and 9 others Thank this.

That’s awesome. I want one soo bad, but it’s either junk or it’s too rich for my wallet. Edit: I thought it was a rollback. That’s what I’m after

That sounds interesting to me for my cars as both have rubberised surfaces to the steering wheels. That's ok for grip normally but if the air is damp the surfaces seem to disintegrate and leave lots of little black bits stuck to my hands. Only drawback is, would I have the patience to do all the stitching.
As a widower I am not interested in a young wife, but they do have their uses sometimes.
Perhaps I could borrow someone else's
